Swimming Pool Guidelines:

All members must adhere to social distancing of 2 metres from each other whilst in the swimming pool/pool area. Changing Facilities (Showers, Lockers and Toilets) are now available for all members to use. Face masks must be worn by members but can be removed for strenuous activity and whilst inside the pool Members must shower prior to entering the swimming pool. Pool access is based on a first come first served basis. Capacity in the pool is limited based on social distancing rules. When lanes are in place, lanes less than 2.5m wide, only 1 Swimmer ONLY permitted per lane. 2.5m or Wider, a maximum 3 Swimmers are permitted to swim in the lane. Swimmers must Swim in a clockwise direction within lanes, maintaining at least 5m ahead / behind each swimmer. Members should select swim lanes based on their personal ability / speed to enable Social Distancing and 5m spacing rules to be maintained. Any parents in attendance poolside, must maintain Social Distancing of minimum 2 metres. Lifeguard requests and directions must be respected and followed, to ensure everyone’s safety and compliance with Local Municipal requirements.

We have missed you and welcome you back with a warm smile and we ask you to read this welcome letter fully, to understand we have new measures in place to ensure yours and our team safety and wellbeing remain our number one priority.

Things will look a bit different around here, but our heart is still the same and you will leave with the same sense of satisfaction, awesomeness and joy as you did before.

In order to resume training at your favourite club, we require all members to review and accept our agreement to ensure maximum safety and wellbeing for you, other members and our staff.

Operating Guidelines

Below are the guidelines we have put in place in accordance with government guidelines and endorsed by our Fitness First Covid-19 Wellbeing advisor, Dr. Mansoor Habib who is also a consultant Family Physician at Mediclinic Parkview Hospital Dubai.

  • Each member and staff member will have their body temperature checked through a temperature gun upon entry. Staff and Customers plus any contractors will not be permitted to enter with a temperature of 37.5 degrees centigrade or higher
  • Customer Age Restrictions will be applied in accordance with government regulations restricting access to the children below 15 years and customers over 60 years not advised to visit the gym.
  • Members time inside our clubs will be limited to a maximum of 1.5 hour.
  • Entry will be restricted to members who are feeling unwell or showing any signs of illness.
  • To ensure adequate distancing between members, social distancing measures are in place leaving a minimum of 2 metres apart.
  • All members are required to wear mask inside our clubs as well as upon entering and leaving the club.
  • Members must bring their own sweat towel and an exercise mat.
  • You have to bring your membership card to gain entry to the club.
  • Toilets and Sinks in the changing rooms will be open for use.
  • We have reduced the capacity of GX classes to ensure adequate spacing to 30% capacity. All GX classes should be booked at reception, to ensure the number of spaces available and to book your space before you arrive at the club. No entry will be permitted to anyone who has not booked.
  • GX classes will run for 30 minutes each class.
  • Cardio equipment will be re-arranged with every other piece available for use, to allow a safe 2 metre distance between members on the equipment
  • Boxing gloves will not be available. Some other fitness accessories may also be unavailable until further notice.
  • PT sessions will continue; however these will be conducted with the appropriate social distancing measures in place and no physical contact.
  • Members have to book their time slot of Gym Attendance at reception in line with our prescribed regulations that follow the Government Rules, in order to gain access to our facilities. You have to complete your workout in the designated time and exit accordingly.

Our Sanitisation and safety protocols

  • Our dedicated cleaning teams are consistency cleaning throughout the day, and conducting a deep clean every night after our clubs close.
  • All Clubs have been equipped with additional cleaning and sanitization products.
  • All members and staff are being educated to practice good hygiene with regular hand washing, hand sanitisers, social distancing and staying home if feeling unwell.
  • All equipment is being thoroughly sanitized after each class.
  • Each club has a Wellbeing Marshall appointed wearing a high vis vest who is responsible to monitor, inspect and manage all protocols are being adhered to.

MEMBER AGREEMENT

Dear Member,

As we re-open clubs, the health and wellbeing of our staff and members is our number one priority. To create the safest environment, we have put a number of guidelines in place and we ask your support in your agreement to adhere to these new guidelines.

Below the new guidelines have been listed and we ask you to accept before you visit our newly re-opened clubs. By entering our clubs, you agree to the below stated guidelines.

We ask all members to ensure they follow these when you visit the club.

Fitness First reserves the right to deny entry or remove any member who does not adhere to our policy.

We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our community as healthy as possible.

For good and valuable consideration, the parties agree as follows:

1. HEALTH & SAFETY

I confirm I do not have any symptoms related to and have not been knowingly exposed to COVID-19.

If the above status changes, I agree not to visit the club.

2. FACE COVERING

I agree to wear a mask while in the club.

3. SOCIAL DISTANCING

I agree to keep a 2 metre distance between myself and other members/staff while in the club.

4. CLEANLINESS

I agree to disinfect all equipment after use, and will not enter closed off areas.

I agree to keep my hands washed/sanitized while at the club.

5. FITNESS FIRST POLICIES    

I agree to all policy and required actions implemented by Fitness First.

WAIVER: In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, I reaffirm the Waiver which I executed on my Membership form, and assume the risk of use of the Fitness First facilities.

Fitness First Marshalls will be monitoring the clubs to monitor that our guidelines are being adhered to. If a Marshall or member asks you to do one of the above, we ask that you please cooperate and do your part. Thank you in advance, we can’t wait to see you in the club.

Operating hours will be:

  • All Men’s Only clubs : Saturday to Friday 6 am to 12 Midnight
  • Localizer Ladies Only Club : Saturday to Thursday 7 am to 10 pm and Friday off
  • Gallery Mall and Thumama Mall Ladies only clubs: Saturday to Thursday 8 am to 10 pm and Friday off

We will be limiting the number of members in the club at any given time. You will need to book your chosen 1.5 hour workout time at club reception

For phase 1, the below facilities will remain closed until further notice:

  1. Towel Service.
  2. Swimming Pool.
  3. Sauna and Steam Rooms and Jacuzzis / Spa Pools to remain closed until further notice.
  4. Member lounge to remain closed until further notice.
  5. Water fountains and water stations will be closed until further notice.
  6. Guests and members guests or guest passes/vouchers will not be accepted until further notice.
  7. Children’s activities will remain on hold until further notice.

Yes, all members and staff are required to wear face masks inside our clubs.

We are asking all members to maintain a 2 metre distance between themselves and others in the club. Floor stickers are here to help guide you marking this suitable distance in the reception area. Within the club, it is your responsibility to maintain this 2 metre distance and our Wellbeing Marshalls will be monitoring and addressing anyone who fails to comply with our set guidelines.

Yes you can. Our GX classes have been modified to cater for a 30% capacity until further notice. You must book your space at club reception. Members who have not booked will not be permitted to enter the class.
